Usenet Software
The main players in the Usenet market provide their own access programs, which are all quite similar in usability and functionality. However, without the appropriate software it can be difficult and complicated to access the Usenet and especially to download files.
The so-called newsreaders, manage the information exchange with the news servers and facilitate posting and reading messages in different newsgroups. Good newsreaders, like the ones from the providers we recommend here (Comparison List), let you easily search and find information or files you want to download. They should also have in-build download managers, par2 repairing managers and automatic archive extraction services.
All major providers have newsreaders with intuitive search interfaces as easy to operate as Google. You can search for specific files, specific keywords or more broad for certain file types or thematic areas. Like a RSS-Feed the newsreaders also let you subscribe to newsgroups and keeps you informed about new posts and changes.
As all providers newsreaders just slightly differ, we suggest to just take advantage of the free trials and to decide which newsreader you prefer, afterwards.
